Power Stripes vs. Power Backups by Techno

I hope this article may help PC owners understand the difference between power strips and power backups. There is of course a cost difference but what each unit can do is a major difference. Power strips are simple surge protectors with multiple outlets to accommodate all your devices. Power strips protect from a surge or (overage in as current) This feature is very important to keep your PC free from surge damage. If a surge does get your PC because you don’t have protection it will be a quick and almost always total death. On another note power backups protect you from power surges as well as power brown outs (loss of power). Brown outs often go un-noticed and damage your PC’s internal parts. This type of damage usually has a slow but infinite death. Power back up also have a feature that may condition the incoming power to your computer. In simple terms it cleans the power it feeds your computer. The deciding factor between these two product lines is cost. Surge protectors being inexpensive and power backups can range from moderate to expensive. This day an age you get what you pay for. Don’t go cheap on power protection. If you are in the market I would recommend two great name brands either APC or Tripp Lite. Be smart, look over your PC requirement before buying. Every PC setup has different requirement. For example, the bigger the monitor the bigger the power backup is required.
